As an experienced (22 years +) and committed Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist, I am open and willing to collaborate with you in a focused therapeutic process toward meaningful change that YOU seek.
I am an enthusiastic, non-judgmental, inclusive and empathetic therapist who will work in partnership with you to discover new learnings, insights, solutions and behaviours when facing the challenges in your life. I am not only going to notice the problems and turmoil’s; we also will notice your strengths and use those strengths to assist you in the desired change you seek. I want to inspire and motivate toward achieving the outcomes you seek.
Psychotherapy is a process provided by a trained and regulated professional. As a master’s level prepared social worker, I am a trained professional. I am a member in good standing with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers which is the governing body for the public to ensure you receive ethical treatment.
Psychotherapy or “talk” therapy is where you share your history and current concerns, problems and turmoil’s and together we focus on your reactions, thoughts, feelings and behaviours to help unravel those reactions. With an unravelling, you can develop new ways of thinking, healing and being! Therapy can be a short or a lengthy process depending on the goals you want to achieve. We will discuss your needs and concerns and the type of treatment appropriate to address those needs.
My areas of passion and interest in treatment modalities are mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) and EMDR.
If you are struggling with any of the following issues, I may be able to help:
Low mood, depression, anxiety
Emotional variability with negative consequences
Adjustment issues to life changes
Grief and loss
Current impact from negative childhood events
If you do not see your issue or problem listed above, please email me and we can discuss.
